A new book delving into the inner workings of the royal family has made startling claims about Queen Elizabeth II’s mindset during Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding.

Ingrid Seward’s latest work, “My Mother and I,” offers insights into the Queen’s relationship with her late mother and other royals, including Prince Charles. The book reveals that the Queen expressed discomfort to Charles about him stepping in to walk Meghan down the aisle due to her father’s absence.

Additionally, the Queen reportedly had reservations about the wedding ceremony itself, particularly American bishop Michael Curry’s unconventional sermon, which differed in style and content from traditional royal proceedings.

During the sermon’s conclusion, the American bishop lightened the mood with a humorous remark, causing laughter throughout the chapel, including from the royal couple. Ingrid Seward notes that Queen Elizabeth II, like others, was taken aback by the passionate delivery of the American archbishop.

The book hints at the Queen’s strained relationship with Prince Harry, suggesting her discontent with his behavior before and after the wedding, which led to damage in their relationship. Seward also discusses Princess Diana, alleging she once made a surprising comment about a young Harry.

“Diana once told me, ‘William is very sensitive and Harry is very lively,'” stated Seward, before adding that the late Princess added she was afraid Harry may have “inherited some of his father’s more unattractive characteristics”.
